25 years in Port Hedland...

After driving for 7 hours through a wide nothing and having experienced our hottest temperatures on the trip (48 C), we all of a sudden entered a world of industry, ships, ports, red iron dust and huge oversize road transports...Port Hedland... one of Western Australia's biggest deep sea ports and famous for its iron ore. So, if any of you like heavy industry, huge mining trucks and lots of dust, then Port Hedland is THE holiday destination for you. If you're not a fan of those things, don't go :)
Unfortunately we could not walk on the beach as it was hatching time for the sea turtles and crocodiles were waiting everywhere to eat them...
Christine was naturally very happy to spend her birthday in such a place...so we thought we'd go to South Hedland to the "once largest shopping center outside of Perth"...well, when was that? In the 1950s?? A small place with a supermarket and a muffin place...that was about it...happy 25, Christine :) But then again she was very happy for all of your messages and Patrick's roses:)

Christine in her "Schwamm-meeschter"dress and Patrick in his best shirt :)

We left very early on the 3rd to head south...
